Frisco is a vibrant modern city going through what seems to be a non-stop era of continuing growth. There are many things that make our city great; not the least of those is the culture of SPORT.
Over the years Frisco has come to be known as a city that thrives on sports activities of all kind. As the home of the professional soccer club FC Dallas, the Class AA Frisco Roughriders baseball team and D-League basketball team the Texas Legends, Frisco has become almost synonymous with Sports. Some would argue that the "coup de gras" was bringing in the Dallas Cowboys head office and practice facilities; and along with it, all the tremendous development that surrounds the building of "The Star". And they would be right....to an extent.
But an often overlooked fact is that the culture of sport goes much deeper than the spectacular professional sports franchises that are located within the city. It begins much more close to home and family with all the great junior sports organizations that drive the dreams of our youth. All the toil that goes into building and developing our kids sports activities is where the spark ignites. As a proud parent of a elite USA Jr Volleyball player I can attest to watching the excitement of sports catch fire, burn and grow within the hearts, souls and minds of our children here in Frisco. This is truly where it all begins, whether it is volleyball (my daughters sport) or football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, etc., our kids drive the origin of the love attachment we all seem to have with sports.
We are currently working on a project for a facility that will become a great enabler to the continued ability for youth sports in Frisco to grow, and allow the junior athletes throughout our community to thrive. I'm proud to be part of a team working together toward a cause so befitting of our community. One that exemplifies a WIN/WIN attitude benefiting our children and our community simultaneously. I'll give more detail and discuss further regarding our relentless march toward making Frisco one of the greatest sports cities in the country within future blogs.
Until then...have a terrific "now".
